We’re absolutely thrilled to announce the return of the Thornham Summer Kids Sports Club — back after several years, and ready to welcome a new generation of children for fun, games, and summer adventures at the Village Hall!
The club was a much-loved part of village life, and this summer it’s being brought back to life by Rebecca Chesterman — someone many in Thornham will know well. Having attended the kids club herself as a child, Rebecca Chesterman now returns as a fully qualified sports coach and personal trainer, bringing with her a great deal of experience, energy, and a strong sense of local pride. Many will remember seeing her in her teenage years working in local shops — and she’s remained a familiar face ever since. A keen golfer with a 10 handicap, Rebecca spends much of her free time practising and competing, and when she’s not coaching clients or leading her popular fitness classes at the Hall, you’ll often spot her out on the golf course or enjoying a run or walk around the village. She is DBS certified, and passionate about helping children stay active, build confidence, and have fun.

A Thornham Story
Rebecca’s decision to bring back the kids club is a wonderful example of Thornham’s community spirit in action. With her unique connection to the club’s history and a genuine love for the village, she’s the perfect person to lead the way — passing on the joy and energy she once experienced to the children of today.
While the club is based runs at Thornham Village Hall & Playing Field, children from nearby villages and the surrounding area are very welcome to join in. Whether you’re a local family or just nearby for the summer, your child will be warmly welcomed!
