Thornham Village Hall was buzzing with activity on Saturday 12 July as record numbers turned out for the much-loved Sausage Sizzle. The sun came out to shine on us, and the scent of sizzling sausages filled the air as friends and neighbours gathered against a quintessentially British backdrop of village cricket.
The evening was filled with community spirit, laughter, good food, and friendly faces all around. Warm thanks to Sue Herbert for taking the lead in planning the event, supported by a brilliant team of volunteers. A very special shout out to Ron, Arne and Seth for manning the BBQ and Andy and Philippa Arnold who stayed behind to help clear up.
A big thank you also to the local businesses who supported the event by donating raffle prizes: Barnetts, Drove Orchard, Thornham Deli and The Chequers on behalf of the Chestnut Group and The Orange Tree.
A relaxed and enjoyable summer evening was had by all and we are absolutely thrilled to share that we raised almost £1,800, a fantastic amount of funds, to support Thornham Village Hall and its ongoing activities and developments!!
From all of us—thank you.
