Today, Tuesday 8 July, Thornham Village Hall was once again the setting for a wonderful community event, as 57 guests gathered to enjoy the much-anticipated Strawberry Lunch. The afternoon brought together guests aged between 72 and 104 for an afternoon of food, friendship, and fun.
Everyone enjoyed a generous buffet, fresh strawberries, and a tempting array of homemade cakes, all served with plenty of tea, coffee, and conversation. The event aims to provide a warm, welcoming environment for elderly residents, particularly those living alone or facing mobility or mental health challenges.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with guests thoroughly enjoying the experience and already looking forward to the next gathering, planned for Tuesday, 7th October.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Carolyn Barrett and the wonderful volunteers who make this event such a highlight.
