Thornham Cricket Club Celebrates a Memorable 2025 Season

Thornham CC gathered at the Golden Lion on Saturday 27th September for their annual Awards Night, hosted once again by the ever-entertaining Simon Parsons. It was an evening full of stories, laughter, and well-earned celebrations after another outstanding season both on and off the field.

This year saw 8,962 runs scored and 416 wickets taken—a true team effort! Highlights included Nathaniel’s incredible 1,182 runs, Ron’s dedicated care of the square (with Sid keeping watch!), and a thriving junior section now fielding a hardball side thanks to the tireless work of so many volunteers – so many to thank… you know who you are! We couldn’t do it all without you!

Off the field, the club came together for a special charity evening with the 8:56 Foundation, raising over £1,000 and welcoming nearly 100 visitors for a night that showed the true spirit of community cricket.

A special highlight of the year was September’s celebration match, marking over three centuries of cricket in our village. Thornham took on Fakenham in a friendly that brought out the best of the game—followed by a superb BBQ that saw the Thornham community turn out in force. A day of sport, food, and friendship that will live long in the memory!
